I Don’t Like Mondays.
The night was cool but not too cool. We zipped down the highway changing lanes and swerving past the slower cars. I had the window open a crack and you could hear the wind tunneling around the car. I watched the lights on other cars dotting the road all the way to the horizon. Our eyes were red and we had smiles on our faces—we were full. It was only the beginning of the week, but we were so relaxed and T. Rex was on the radio, so it didn’t really matter. Taking in everything around me in that beat up car, music blaring loud, and the world zooming past felt great. It felt great and then I remembered that it was only Monday.
